What to do if your baby…
What do if my baby is being this or that…
The truth about parenting is that it doesn’t come with a manual.
Sure there are tons of parenting books and advice from fellow mamas and friends-alike, BUT…
Despite having such guides, sometimes, the parenting journey comes with a massive plot twist that just seems to put us at wit’s end, making us want to yank out our hair and scream at the top of our lungs…
So there’s always the major plan and the back-up plan; trial and error seem to be the best method out there, and there isn’t anything wrong with that! However, what works for one may not exactly have the same results for the rest. Sometimes, it makes us wish we just have all the definite answers, right!?
But, fret not! To aid you in some of the most common scenarios that come along in parenting a newborn, we have come up with a list to serve as your initial guide.
What do I do if my baby is fussy?
While it’s true that babies tend to cry when they’re hungry or in need of a diaper change, these may not just be the only reasons why they’re being fussy. You may need to look at other factors such as a change in scenery or position. Being stationary in one place for too long may also tire them out, and as your baby can’t move much on their own yet, they need your help.
Perhaps you can take out your little one for a walk, or bond with them while sitting on a rocking chair. Hearing your voice may also be soothing for them so it is highly encouraged that you talk to your little bundle of joy to bring reassurance. If this still doesn’t help to put your baby at ease, then you may want to look into is gas.
What do I do if my baby is gassy?
Babies also have gas, and that’s normal as they should also be farting. If your little one seems to be having some trouble in doing so, try gently massaging the belly while they are laying down on their back. You can also try moving their legs in a bicycle-like motion. Initiating such movements may help in preventing them from feeling gassy.
It is also vital that they get to burp after their feeding schedule. If you are a breastfeeding mom, make sure to steer clear of gassy food as it is highly like that your baby will also get this once you feed them. For bottle-fed babies, make sure that their feeding bottle is positioned properly in a tilted position to prevent them from intaking air.
Okay, but that’s not all! What do I do if my baby won’t go to sleep? What do I do if my baby keeps crying all night for some reason I can’t identify? What do I do to calm my new baby? Who do I turn to?
