Doulas of the Valley publishes this list, and we have ranked ourselves first. We are a doula practice ourselves, so read the order as our opinion; the other agencies are here because families ask about them, and you should check each one yourself.
A doula agency is a practice with more than one doula, so you get a team rather than a single person: someone to cover if your doula is at another birth or unwell, and often a wider range of services such as postpartum care, classes and placenta encapsulation. The Phoenix metro has several good ones, and the right choice depends on whether you need birth support, postpartum support, or both.
Below are eight multi-doula agencies and collectives serving the Valley, starting with ours. We only included practices that describe a team on their own website; solo doulas can be wonderful, but they are a different decision.

1. Doulas of the Valley

We are a Scottsdale doula practice founded by Debbie Aglietti Forbes and run as a mother-daughter team. Over nearly 20 years we have supported more than 1,000 families, and our certified doulas bring a nurse-informed approach to every home.
Most families come to us for postpartum doula care, especially overnight support, but we also offer birth support, travel doula and adoption doula care, so one team can follow your family through several stages. You can meet the people behind it on our doulas page.

2. Modern Mama Doula Services

Modern Mama’s team page introduces a large group of birth doulas, postpartum doulas and educators, with short bios that list each person’s particular experience, from twins to feeding tubes.
That makes it easy to shortlist two or three people who match your situation before you call.
3. Cherry Blossom Doula Services
Families who want birth, postpartum, photography and classes from one collective

- Says it has served the Phoenix metro for 13 years
Cherry Blossom describes itself as a collective of birth and postpartum doulas. Its site says it supports all birth goals, including unmedicated, epidural and cesarean, in hospital, birth center and home settings.
It also offers in-home and virtual postpartum support and an Ayurvedic postpartum option.
4. Doula Care Arizona
Families focused on postpartum support

- A team of doulas led by its founder, Vanessa
Doula Care Arizona is centered on the postpartum period. Its founder, Vanessa, describes more than ten years as a doula and a team of doulas she has selected to work with families across the Valley.
5. Sunshine Doula Services
Families who mainly want a birth doula

- Phoenix-based; its site describes Phoenix and Scottsdale doula services
- A small team of birth doulas led by Kelly Sunshine
Sunshine Doula Services is a small, birth-focused team. Its about page introduces founder Kelly Sunshine, a birth doula for more than 13 years, and several doulas who work with her.
Its services page describes early-labor support at home if needed and staying with you through delivery and the first settling-in period.
6. Lioness Birth Services
Families who want doulas, educators and a photographer in one collective
- Birth doula support, prenatal visits, placenta services, birth pool rental
- Serves the greater Phoenix area
- A collective of doulas, educators and childbirth photographers
Lioness is a smaller collective whose team page introduces its owner and several doulas, educators and photographers. It also offers mentoring and training for newer doulas.
Its owner lists bereavement and special-circumstance birth support among her services.
7. Whole Mama Wellness Collective
Families who want doulas alongside lactation, bodywork and mental wellness support

- Based near Central Phoenix; serves families across the Valley
Whole Mama is a collective of doulas and other practitioners. Its site describes a "full circle of support" that goes beyond doula care, including lactation help and bodywork, plus monthly meetups for parents.
8. Happy Birthing AZ

Happy Birthing AZ combines a team of doulas with a range of courses, including group and private hypnobirthing series and a partner prep class.

Agency or solo doula: how to decide
An agency gives you backup coverage and a wider menu of services. A solo doula gives you one person start to finish. Neither is better in general. If guaranteed continuity with a single person matters most, a solo doula may suit you; if you want overnight postpartum shifts across several weeks, a team is usually easier to schedule.
Questions to ask any agency
Who exactly will come to my home or birth?
Ask whether you choose your doula, whether you meet them first, and who the backup is. For postpartum care, ask whether the same doula will cover most of your shifts.
How are your doulas trained?
Ask what training and certification each doula has, and whether they carry current infant CPR. It is fair to ask the agency how it screens the people it sends.
What do you cover, and what do you refer out?
Doulas are non-medical. For feeding problems, a good agency will refer you to an IBCLC; for your recovery or your baby’s health, to your own provider or pediatrician. Our FAQ explains where doula support stops.
Can I switch doulas if it is not a good fit?
A good agency will say yes without fuss. Fit matters a great deal when someone is in your home overnight.
